I grew up outside New York, the youngest of four kids.
Fortunately my sister, who is the oldest, loved music and exposed me to a lot of the essentials early on.
She loved the Beatles and the British Invasion bands, but she also used to go to the Apollo and turned me on to Jackie Wilson, Aretha, Sam Cooke and all the Atlantic, Motown and Stax catalogs.
I discovered blues around this time, and listened to Muddy Waters, Little Walter, John Hurt, Son House, Jimmy Reed, Paul Butterfield and everything I could get my hands on.
Out of that came a lifelong love of soul/blues singing and harmonica. I decided to include several different things I do on this site.
